Error de principiante: Anticiparse en las compras
A la hora de invertir en los mercados financieros, una de las principales cualidades que hay que tener, es saber manejar correctamente los tiempos de la inversión. Dentro de este manejo de los tiempos, hay algo que consideramos muy importante, y que no es otra cosa que tener la paciencia necesaria para invertir en el momento más adecuado.
Muchos inversores principiantes, cometen el error de anticiparse a la hora de comprar. Generalmente esto suele ocurrir, porque no se ven las posiciones en liquidez como una parte más del proceso de inversión, si no como una pérdida de rentabilidad o de coste de oportunidad, por lo que aprovechan cualquier caída en el mercado para comprar, sin pararse a pensar si el mercado está dando una oportunidad, o realmente no.
Una pregunta que solemos hacerle a este tipo de inversores, es si prefieren un escenario en el que durante unas semanas o unos meses, no estén ganando rentabilidad, o si prefieren estar comprados y perdiendo dinero. Aunque la pregunta parece que tiene una respuesta sencilla, hay muchos inversores que prefieren estar comprados, y no en liquidez.
No es malo estar en liquidez de vez en cuando
Como hemos comentado en muchas ocasiones, los mercados suelen funcionar por ciclos, y lógicamente no en todas las fases del ciclo, es conveniente estar comprado. Hay ocasiones, donde los activos de riesgo están en momentos de corrección y es en estas ocasiones cuando es interesante tener activos de bajo riesgo y por qué no liquidez.
Tengan en cuenta, que en fases bajistas del mercado, especialmente cuando se producen cambios de ciclo, las correcciones suelen prolongarse durante meses, e incluso años. En estas fases, las caídas no son continuadas, si no que dentro del movimiento principal de corrección, puede haber rebotes que generalmente suelen ser una «trampa» para los inversores que quieren estar siempre comprados, ya que lo que estos rebotes producen es que las entradas se hagan a precios altos.
Así pues, deben intentar ver un poco más allá, y tratar de discernir en qué momento están los mercados, para poder distinguir las oportunidades de compra, de los movimientos de engaño. Es por ello, que la paciencia en estos casos es una virtud, ya que nos dará la posibilidad de analizar tantos factores como podamos para poder tomar la decisión más adecuada.
